This is a trailer for a series of posts that I’m going to publish this weekend and over the following week. I’m in the process of putting together three big presentations at the moment (for schools and the SERA conference) and I’m also leading and project-managing a learning community project which has started to gather pace. I have spent quite a bit of time recently talking to colleagues and school leaders nationally about GLOW and ACfE as vital background preparation and I’ve also been thinking a little more about other issues such as Laurie O’Donnell’s views on educational initiatives and sustainability. Having written about the future of assessment and the SQA, I think it’s now time to turn my attention towards the roles LTS and local authority central teams play in the areas of effective CPD, capacity building and sustainability, hence the title of this post . I think it’s going to be fairly positive, although it will pose some questions and posit scenario’s (distilled from my discussions with colleagues and through networking) which might be uncomfortable for some folk..
For me, it’s a bit of a watershed, for many reasons, which will become clear as my writing takes shape.
more soon…
