Is it just me or….

…are there others who read the ok and Hello mags when on holiday. I’m starting to get a bit of a complex because a quick scoot around the sites of the blogeratti reveals some quite highbrow holiday reading lists.
Mine, on the other hand consists of the above-mentioned mags, some Marion Keyes, this years editions of Classic rock magazine and…wait for it, John Major’s autobiography. I suppose the one saving grace is that I’m working my way through Hartl and Jones’s Genetics by way of some Biology CPD.
Does anyone else find it quite hard to stop working when on holiday ? So far this time, I’ve spent time blinging up school GLOW sites, doing some curiculum development stuff for Biology as well as working on my research study report and completing my Finland study visit reflective analysis. And I need to get on with reviewing the gaming literature retty soon as well…..maybe I’ve got a relaxation phobia (there must be a term for that).
or just maybe I need to get to grips with Hilary Clinton’s biog. by way of distraction…

I read an article last week about how it takes the average person over two and a half days to unwind and stop thinking about work when on holiday – I’m sure it must be more than that for teachers..

No I never read Hello and OK! Despite my wife having them.
I tend to find I get into trashy telly. I think I maybe addicted to ‘Heir Hunters’ and ‘Homes under the hammer’on morning tv.
I now have a fairly large ‘to do’ list to complete before the 18th of August.
I wonder if the summer work is something, in my case, that is a carry over from previously only getting a very limited number of holiday’s when in industry. I feel that its a time that I have to get somethings done.
The problem is that do we ever really switch off? If we had 4 weeks then we would actually stop. Knowing that we would in school getting things done without the pupils being there.
